We are seeking an experienced and reliable CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring CNC machines to manufacture precision components according to engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
The ideal candidate will have strong CNC machining experience, blueprint reading skills, and knowledge of precision measuring instruments.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and other CNC machining equipment.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, work orders, and specifications.
- Load programs, tools, fixtures, and raw materials into CNC machines.
- Perform machine setups, tool changes, offsets, and adjustments as required.
- Monitor machining operations to ensure accuracy and consistent product quality.
- Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Verify dimensions and tolerances according to engineering specifications.
- Identify and troubleshoot machining, tooling, and quality issues.
- Make necessary adjustments to machine settings and tooling.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and basic machine troubleshooting.
- Maintain accurate production and quality records.
- Ensure production targets and deadlines are achieved while maintaining quality standards.
- Follow all company health and safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Work closely with supervisors, programmers, quality personnel, and other machinists.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Previous experience as a CNC Machinist, CNC Operator, or similar machining position.
- Strong experience with CNC milling and/or CNC turning.
- Ability to independently perform machine setups and tooling changes.
- Strong ability to read and understand engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Experience using precision measuring equipment, including micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
- Understanding of machining tolerances, speeds, feeds, and cutting tools.
- Knowledge of G-code and M-code is an asset.
- CNC programming or program-editing experience is an asset.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with Fanuc, Haas, Mazak, Okuma, or similar CNC controls is an asset.
- Experience machining various metals and materials.
- Experience in a precision manufacturing or high-volume production environment.
- Ability to perform CNC setups independently from drawings and specifications.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and handle materials, tooling, and components as required.
- Comfortable working around industrial machinery in a manufacturing setting.
