Primary Role:

Complete machining & manufacturing projects as assigned by CNC Department Lead.

Responsibilities:

- Efficient undertaking of machining projects as assigned.
- Responsible for the finished quality of machined pieces.
- Responsible for completing machining and manufacturing projects as per the shop schedule.
- Gibbscam, Mazatrol, Conversational & G-Code Programming experience required.
- Siemens & VDF controls experience considered an asset.
- Hands-on, milling & turning, experience.
- Responsible for the verification of toolpaths & modelling fixtures prior to production.
- Determine proper tooling and testing of new tooling and techniques for optimization.
- Maintain a proactive and positive approach when completing assigned tasks either individually or as part of the team.
- All other duties which may be assigned based on the company’s requirements.

- Meet the operational objectives while complying with the overall corporate goals.
- Maintain a secure working environment and promote health and safety awareness.
- Identify, investigate and correct unsafe practices.
- Support employee development, mentorship and growth.
- Maintain a positive ‘team’ environment on the shop floor through respectful dealings with individuals from all departments.
- Meet set deadlines as per dictated by shop schedule and customer demands.

Qualifications:

- 5 years plus of machining & repair experience is required.




- Journeyman trade designation in machining is considered an asset.
- Excellent verbal and written skills when dealing with both internal team members and customers.

Physical Demands:

- Occasionally Lift / Carry weights to 40 lbs.
- Occasionally Push / Pull weights to 80 lbs.

Time Commitment Expectations:

- Typical shift commencement 7:30am – 3:30pm; Monday through Friday.
- Typical afternoon shift commencement 3:00pm – 1:00am; Monday through Thursday.
- Earlier (or later) shift overtime available as required.
- Weekend shift overtime available as required

Equipment Required for Position (worker supplied):

- Vernier (6” & 12”) *requires in-house calibration, annually
- OD Micrometer (0 – 6”) *requires in-house calibration, annually
- ID Micrometer (0 – 6”) *requires in-house calibration, annually
- Dials *requires in-house calibration, annually
- Metric and Imperial set of Allen Keys required
- Eye Protection, Gloves and hearing protection is provided on site.
- Tape Measure

Subject to approval on a case-by-case basis, Oil City Machining Ltd. will provide financial support by way of payroll loan/advance to assist in the purchase of required personal equipment & tools Job Types: Full-time, Apprenticeship

Pay: $20.00-$45.00 per hour
