Job description:Pay: CA$135,000.00-CA$185,000.00 DOE per yearEnvironmental SuperintendentTrail, British Columbia (Onsite)Focus of the role:This is a senior leadership opportunity for an environmental professional who excels in strategy, long-term planning, and program development. You will lead the design and execution of environmental strategies across a large, complex industrial operation—shaping how environmental performance evolves over time.Work Schedule:Monday–Thursday: 7:00am–4:00pmFriday: 7:00am–3:00pmEvery second Friday offRelocation support is available.The Role: Strategy FirstThis role is not about day-to-day compliance—it is about setting direction and building long-term environmental strategy.Reporting to the Manager, Environment & Lands, you will define and drive integrated environmental programs across the site, anchored around five core pillars:Air – emissions reduction strategies and community exposure managementDust – fugitive dust control and reduction of ambient particulate impactsWater – water management, risk mitigation, and system resilienceRemediation – large-scale legacy impact remediation (in office and surrounding areas)Soil – contamination management, restoration, and long-term site stewardshipYou will lead a team of 3–4 direct reports, providing strategic direction, technical oversight, and coaching. While the role is not hands-on operationally, it requires strong technical depth to effectively guide specialists, validate approaches, and ensure robust decision-making.What You'll OwnYou will be accountable for building and advancing cohesive environmental strategies and programs,
including:Long-term air emissions reduction and community exposure strategiesDust management programs focused on reducing fugitive and ambient impactsWater system risk reduction and long-term resource protection strategiesLarge-scale remediation programs addressing historical site impactsSoil management and restoration strategies across affected areasBiodiversity and ecosystem management frameworks across a wide regional footprintAquatic monitoring and environmental performance programsInfrastructure environmental risk strategies (e.G., stormwater and containment systems)Community-facing environmental strategies including air quality and public health outcomesA key part of the role is ensuring these pillars are not managed in isolation, but delivered as a connected, forward-looking environmental strategy aligned with regulatory expectations and business priorities.Leadership & InfluenceLead, develop, and mentor a team of environmental specialists (3–4 direct reports)Set priorities, allocate resources, and manage significant program budgetsProvide technical oversight across multiple complex environmental domainsPartner closely with operations, technical teams, and a counterpart focused on compliance and executionBuild trusted relationships with regulators, Indigenous groups, and local communitiesRepresent the organization in regional environmental and public health initiativesWhat You Bring10–15+ years of leadership experience in heavy industry or similarly complex environmentsStrong background in environmental strategy, program design, and multi-disciplinary leadershipTechnical understanding across air, water, soil, and remediation disciplinesProven ability to translate complex environmental challenges into clear strategic directionExperience managing large-scale environmental programs and budgetsStrong understanding of environmental regulations and evolving policy frameworksEstablished track record of stakeholder engagement with regulators, communities, and Indigenous partnersCompensation$135,000 – $185,000 base salary range, depending on experience and qualifications + bonus + Profit share + RRSP match + long term incentives + relocation package if necessary.Benefits:Profit sharingRelocation assistanceRRSP matchWork Location: In person #J-18808-Ljbffr
