About Elia Associates PC

Elia Associates PC is a leading post-development condominium law firm serving condominium corporations across Ontario. We are known for practical, strategic advice, strong advocacy, and a commitment to exceptional client service.

Our lawyers work on complex and often novel disputes involving condominium governance, construction, contracts, real property and commercial issues. We also contribute to the condominium community through education, speaking engagements, volunteer work and industry leadership.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced commercial and/or construction litigator to join our litigation team. The ideal candidate will have approximately 5–10 years of litigation experience and be comfortable taking ownership of files, developing strategy, advising clients, and appearing as counsel.

Direct condominium-law experience is an asset, but not required. Commercial and construction litigators bring highly transferable skills to condominium disputes, and we will support the successful candidate in developing the specialized condominium-law knowledge needed for the role.

We are looking for a strong advocate and writer with sound judgment, excellent client skills, and the confidence to manage complex matters independently while working collaboratively with a highly experienced team.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage litigation files from initial assessment and pleadings through resolution, including motions, applications, discoveries, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
- Draft persuasive pleadings, affidavits, facta, legal opinions, correspondence, and other litigation materials.
- Develop practical litigation strategy and provide clear,

commercially sensible advice to condominium boards, property managers, and other clients.
- Appear before courts, tribunals, and arbitrators as appropriate.
- Work collaboratively with senior counsel, other lawyers, law clerks, and support staff on complex matters.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships and take an active role in file and client management.
- Participate in industry events, conferences, educational programs, and speaking opportunities.

Required Education & Experience

- LL.B. or J.D. degree.
- Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
- Approximately 5–10 years of commercial and/or construction litigation experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing contested matters and drafting high-quality litigation materials.
- Strong knowledge of civil procedure, evidence and litigation strategy.
- Construction-law experience and/or commercial-disputes experience is required; condominium-law experience is an asset.
- Knowledge of administrative law or real property law is an asset.

Key Skills & Attributes

- Exceptional legal writing, advocacy and analytical skills.
- Sound judgment and the ability to identify practical solutions in complex disputes.
- Excellent client communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organization, attention to detail and file-management skills.

- A collaborative mindset combined with the confidence to work independently.
- Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
- Interest in developing a recognized practice in condominium litigation.

What We Offer

- Competitive compensation. Current anticipated base salary: approximately CA $160,000, commensurate with experience; a commission structure may also be available.
- Full-time, permanent position (Monday–Friday).
- Hands-on mentorship and collaboration with senior litigators.
- A supportive, team-driven environment where lawyers are trusted with meaningful responsibility.
- The opportunity to develop specialized expertise in condominium litigation, a uniquely varied practice spanning commercial and construction disputes, insurance, real estate, estates, regulatory matters and more.
- Exposure to industry-leading conferences, educational programs and speaking opportunities that support skilled profile and practice development.
- Dental care, extended health care, vision care and on-site parking.
