Position: Commercial Locksmith Technician

Work Environment: On-Site / Field-Based

Position Summary

Avenue Technologies is seeking an experienced Commercial Locksmith Technician to join our team in the Toronto/GTA area.

This is an on-site, hands-on locksmith position focused on servicing, maintaining, repairing, and installing commercial locking and door hardware. The successful candidate should be comfortable working independently at customer sites and have strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills.

Experience with Medeco locking systems is considered a strong asset.

Responsibilities

- Install, repair, replace, and maintain commercial locks and locking hardware
- Rekey locks and cylinders
- Perform key cutting and key duplication
- Service and troubleshoot lock cylinders, mortise locks, cylindrical locks, deadbolts, and related hardware
- Install and repair commercial door hardware
- Service panic bars, exit devices, door closers, hinges, and related components
- Diagnose lock, key, and door hardware problems
- Perform preventive maintenance on locks and door hardware
- Assist with master key and restricted key systems
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, keys, cylinders, and materials used
- Identify damaged or worn hardware and recommend appropriate repairs or replacement
- Complete locksmith service calls at commercial customer locations
- Maintain company tools, equipment, materials, and inventory
- Follow customer site procedures and safety requirements




- Maintain a qualified appearance and communicate effectively with customers and site representatives

Qualifications
- Previous professional locksmith experience
- Strong knowledge of commercial locks, cylinders, keys, and door hardware
- Experience with rekeying, pinning cylinders, key cutting, and lock servicing
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical lock and door hardware issues
- Experience working with commercial and institutional properties is preferred
- Ability to work independently and manage assigned service calls
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Good communication and customer-service skills
- Valid Ontario driver's licence with a clean driving record
- Ability to safely use locksmith hand tools and power tools
- Ability to lift and carry tools, equipment, and door hardware as required

- Experience servicing large commercial, office, institutional,



or property-management environments

Work Environment

This is anon-site position. The Locksmith Technician will perform work primarily at customer facilities throughout Toronto and the GTA.

This is not a remote position.

The role may involve working in commercial buildings, office towers, institutional facilities, property-management environments, and other customer locations.
