Responsibilities What your days look like as an Operations Clerk?
- Provide customer service to truck drivers at the salt terminal during the winter season (Sections 90-100, Port of Montreal) and provide occasional coverage at the bulk terminals (Section 44, Port of Montreal);
- Welcome truck drivers, guide them through the loading process, and ensure the accuracy of all loading-related information;
- Monitor loading operations by weighing trucks before and after loading and providing drivers with the necessary instructions;
- Enter and manage data in operational tracking systems and prepare daily reports related to salt loading activities;
- Collaborate with the operations team to ensure the smooth execution of activities and perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications To succeed as an Operations Clerk you must have:
- High school diploma (DES) required;
- Training in office administration, business administration, logistics, or transportation is considered an asset;
- Experience in an administrative or operational role is considered an asset;
- Due to the terminal's location and the lack of public transportation, candidates must have access to a vehicle;
- Solid computer skills and data entry proficiency (Microsoft Office);
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively;
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in managing information;
- Professional and courteous approach when interacting with truck drivers, customers, and team members;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced operational environment where priorities may change quickly;
- Good command of spoken and written French; English is considered an asset based on operational requirements.
