Responsibilities
- Coordinate the organization’s financial planning and budgeting processes;
- Monitor the financial performance of funding agreements and ensure compliance with funder requirements;
- Prepare, analyze, and present financial statements and periodic financial reports;
- Manage cash flow and monitor organizational liquidity;
- Oversee accounting operations, payroll administration, employee benefits, and the administration of the HOOPP pension plan;
- Ensure the effectiveness of internal controls and compliance with applicable legal, regulatory, and organizational requirements;
- Coordinate the annual external audit process;
- Prepare financial documentation and reports for the Board of Directors;
- Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors, financial institutions, insurers, and funding agencies;
- Provide financial advice and support to leadership and managers on financial matters;
- Coordinate the administration of insurance policies and maintain relationships with insurance brokers and providers;
- Participate in the identification, assessment, and management of the Centre’s financial and contractual risks;
- Oversee the administrative management of leases and agreements related to the Centre’s premises;
- Coordinate the accounting and administrative management of the Centre’s capital assets;
- Participate in the budget planning of capital projects and capital asset requirements;
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Executive Director and within the scope of the position.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field;
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation, or an equivalent combination of education and experience deemed acceptable;
- Knowledge of accounting standards applicable to not-for-profit organizations;
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in accounting and financial management;
- Demonstrated experience in budgeting, financial analysis, financial statement preparation, and cash flow management;
- Experience supervising staff;
- Experience in the healthcare sector, a not-for-profit organization, or a publicly funded organization is considered an asset;
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills;
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet deadlines;
- Sound qualified judgment, discretion, and integrity;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Fluency in both French and English, spoken and written;
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
Work Conditions
- Salary range: $80,136.41 to $98,914.55 per year;
