Duties

- Shopping for weekly groceries for preparation of a meal each Wednesday afternoon for approximately 70 to 100 evening diners.
- Prepare and cook large quantities of meals, ensuring they are nutritious, appealing, and served promptly
- Handle food with care, following all food safety and hygiene protocols to maintain cleanliness and prevent contamination
- Serve meals to community members with friendliness and professionalism, creating an inclusive atmosphere
- Assist with food prep tasks such as chopping, portioning, and assembling ingredients for daily menus
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness by sanitizing surfaces, washing dishes, and organizing supplies throughout each shift
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies,



notifying management when restocking is needed
- Follow all health regulations related to food handling, storage, and sanitation to ensure compliance

Experience

- Previous food service experience in a restaurant or community kitchen setting is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Familiarity with meal preparation techniques and food handling best practices
- Experience serving customers or community members with kindness and professionalism
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper kitchen hygiene practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Kitchen experience within the food industry or restaurant environment is highly valued
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and volunteers
