Companion CAREGiver – Seniors Helping Seniors at Heart

Location: York Region

Pay: $18.00 per hour

Job Type: Part-Time / Casual

Home Instead Senior Care provides a variety of non-medical services that allow seniors to meet the challenges of aging with dignity, care, and compassion. We are looking for people who can provide an ongoing commitment.

The hours of work can include a variety of hours such as overnights, days, nights, evenings, weekends, and holidays to service clients in the following areas:

South York Region: Richmond Hill, Vaughan, King, Whitchurch-Stouffville.

Central York Region: Newmarket, Aurora, East Gwillimbury, Holland Landing, Sharon, Cedar Valley, Sanford.

Northern York Region & Surrounding Communities: Georgina, Keswick, Sutton West, Pefferlaw, Mount Albert, Beaverton, Sunderland, Bradford West Gwillimbury.

What Does a Companion CAREGiver Do?

Every day is different, but your role may include:

- Providing companionship and conversation
- Sharing hobbies, games, puzzles, and activities
- Accompanying clients on walks or outings




- Providing transportation to appointments and errands
- Grocery shopping and meal preparation
- Light housekeeping and laundry
- Medication reminders
- Supporting clients with social engagement and community involvement
- Monitoring changes in clients and communicating concerns to the office team

Our Companion CAREGivers focus on enhancing quality of life through connection, engagement, and practical support. Because companionship can change a life.

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

- Has a genuine passion for working with seniors
- Is kind, patient, dependable, and compassionate
- Enjoys conversation and building relationships
- Is comfortable working independently in clients' homes
- Has a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle
- Can provide a Vulnerable Sector Screening
- Is able to commit to a consistent schedule and ongoing client relationships

Experience That Is Considered an Asset:

- Experience caring for a family member or friend
- Volunteer experience with seniors
- Customer service, hospitality, teaching, recreation, or healthcare backgrounds
- Experience supporting individuals living with Alzheimer's disease or dementia

Pay: $17.60-$18.00 per hour
