Responsibilities - Design and layout of raceway and conduits for power, control and instrumentation wiring for industrial sectors such as Pulp & Paper, Wastewater Treatment and Power Generation.
- Cable tray loading reports, installation methods of cable trays and grounding of cable trays.
- Conduit loading, installation methods of conduits, grounding, and connection of conduits.
- Selecting type of cable trays, raceways, and conduits for the project specific application.
- Distribution and control from 120 volts to 15,000 volts AC.
- Design and layout of underground conduits.
- Design and layout of grounding systems.
- Develop physical layout drawings of electrical rooms, transformer rooms, outdoor substations.
- Coordinate design with other disciplines (Piping, HVAC, Civil, Mechanical).
Qualifications - Direct Industry Practical Experience: Must possess in-depth knowledge and a working background in projects requiring detailed design of Cable trays and Conduit for the industrial sectors such as Pulp & Paper, Wastewater Treatment, Power Generation, etc.
- Minimum 10 years or more qualified experience in cable tray design working in Consulting Engineering environment.
- Experience to gather electrical information at Client’s project site and understand existing cable tray and conduit installations.
- Experience working at job sites to supervise the installation of cable tray systems and conduits, and electrical equipment (an asset).
- Strong computer-based skills using AVEVA E3D and AUTOCAD 2D.
- Experience using software programs such as AVEVA Electrical Engineering Modules and AUTOCAD PLANT 3D modelling would be an asset.
- Good working knowledge of MICROSOFT Office Tools and Windows.
- Solid understanding of industrial electrical distribution equipment and materials.
- Understanding and comprehensive working knowledge of the current Canadian Electrical Code, particular the sections relating to Wire and Cable, Raceway & Conduit Systems, Grounding, Motors, and Motor Controls.
- Team-oriented, detailed oriented and a creative thinker.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral).
