Role Description The Construction Estimator is a full-time, in office role based in the Greater Toronto Area, Canada. The estimator will prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates for structural restoration projects, including concrete repairs, waterproofing systems, masonry work, and exterior cladding retrofits. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing drawings and specifications, soliciting and analyzing vendor and subcontractor quotes, and developing accurate budgets and tender submissions.

The role involves collaborating with project managers, site supervisors, and suppliers to clarify scope, monitor cost impacts, and support project planning and scheduling.



The estimator will also maintain cost databases, update pricing, and contribute to value engineering and bid strategies to ensure competitive and realistic proposals.

Qualifications

- Construction estimating and quantity take-off skills, with experience preparing detailed estimates for restoration and repair projects.
- Cost management and budgeting skills to develop, track, and adjust project budgets and support profitable project delivery.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and subcontractors, and to present estimates clearly and confidently.
- Proficiency with estimating software and MS Excel; familiarity with construction drawings, specifications, and building codes.
- Relevant experience in building restoration, concrete repair, waterproofing, masonry, or exterior cladding is an asset.
- Diploma or degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy under deadlines.
- Ability to work safely on or near construction sites and occasionally visit project locations within the Greater Toronto Area.
