Lubec Construction Ltd. is a fast-growing Construction Management Company with our office located in Victoria, British Columbia that specializes in multi family construction across Vancouver Island. We are founded and structured on a model which affords us a greater capacity to respond quickly to the needs of our clients; resolve issues with minimal to no interruption in the construction schedule, and complete projects that exceed our clients’ expectations.

As we expand, we are looking for a dynamic, organized, and hardworking Construction Estimator to work in our office. This position is considered full-time and a permanent position.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

- Analyze and quantify project documents to prepare accurate cost estimates based on tender packages for new projects.
- Analyze and quantify project documents to prepare accurate costs estimates for budget classes A-D.
- Create project proposals and takeoffs for new opportunities under the direction of ownership.
- Attend tender site visits
- Source trades and material with the assistance of other Lubec staff.
- Create tender packages and bid recaps for all scopes required on each project complete with negotiation and subtrade recommendation.
- Communicate and update management staff on project status.
- Perform other related duties as required.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

- Ability to work according to deadlines and prioritize workload.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing project requirements.
- Possess strong organizational and time management skills.
- Experience using estimating software is an asset.




- Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications and BC Building Code.
- Ability to develop and implement project schedules on multi family residential projects.
- Ability to supervise and provide direction to team members.
- Ability to read, accept, interprets, and analyze project costs on all types of construction projects.
- Ability to complete quantity take-offs and estimate of full projects ranging from single family to mid rise towers.
- Ability to complete quantity take-offs and estimates of earthworks and civil infrastructure is an asset.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam and Microsoft Project
- Previous experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud is an asset
- Previous construction estimating experience of 5 years is required in multi family or commercial construction.
- Grade 12 Education plus a post-secondary degree in related area to construction.
- Flexibility to work extended hours when required.
- Must be self motivated while maintaining an open mind to learn.
