The Molnar Group is a leading family-owned Vancouver real estate development and construction firm with more than 50 years in business.

We are actively looking for a carpenter/telehandler operator for our Nanaimo seniors residential leasing building complex for Ocean View located in downtown Nanaimo for our 145 unit senior’s housing project.

The successful candidate must have 5 + years experience, telehandler certification and be available to work weekends.

Required:

· Reading blueprints

· Prepare, erect and remove structural formwork for concrete foundations, walls, columns, beams and shafts

· Cutting and shaping materials and joining them with nails, screws, bolts or glue

· Checking completed units to be sure they are level, square, plumb and the right size, shape and location

· General carpentry such as framing, hoarding, doors and frames and other activities as assigned

· Five (5) + years proven experience as a carpenter

· Must be able to work weekends

· Must have own hand tools

Duties

· Finishing Carpentry





· Back framing

· Form work

· Clean-up

Skills and Abilities

· Read blue prints, drawings and sketches to fully grasp requirements

· Measure and calculate material needed to avoid wastage

· Working in a fast-paced environment

· Comply with WorkSafe BC site safety requirements at all times

· Positive knowledge of English

· Solid understanding of basic math

Work Conditions

· On construction job site. Preference will be given to local candidates familiar with local trades and practices.

· ALL applicants must legally be able to work in Canada.

Salary Range

Starting at $30/hour depending on experience
