Position Overview

As a Contents Restoration Technician, you will be responsible for restoring, documenting, packing, transporting, and storing clients' belongings following property damage. Working closely with our Project Managers, Water Restoration Technicians, and Construction team, you'll ensure contents are handled safely, professionally, and with the highest level of care throughout every stage of the restoration process.

Success in this role requires excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, compassion for clients, and the ability to work efficiently in both residential and commercial environments.

Responsibilities

Contents Restoration

- Restore contents affected by water, fire, smoke, mould, and other property damage using specialized restoration techniques and equipment.
- Perform deodorization, sanitization, and specialty restoration of household and commercial contents.
- Evaluate contents for restoration potential and identify items requiring specialty restoration services.
- Maintain a clean, organized,



and efficient Contents Restoration facility.
- Follow industry best practices to maximize the recovery of clients' personal and business belongings.

Pack-Outs & Inventory Management

- Carefully pack, protect, transport, and unpack customer belongings.
- Create accurate inventories using approved contents management software.
- Photograph, label, and document customer belongings throughout the restoration process.
- Prepare contents for secure storage and maintain warehouse organization.
- Ensure accurate tracking and chain of custody for all customer belongings.

Project Support

- Assist Water Restoration Technicians and Project Managers with restoration activities as required.
- Support remediation, demolition, and restoration projects when appropriate.
- Assist with equipment setup, maintenance, cleaning, and inventory.
- Participate in emergency response and after-hours on-call rotations as required.

Communication

- Deliver exceptional customer service while working in clients' homes and businesses.
- Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients regarding the restoration of their belongings.
- Maintain regular communication with Project Managers regarding project progress and any issues requiring attention.
- Collaborate effectively with all members of the restoration team.

General

- Maintain professional conduct and appearance at all times.
- Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and WorkSafeBC regulations.
- Properly wear and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain company vehicles, tools, equipment, and the Contents Restoration facility in good working order.
- Protect confidential client and company information.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Experience

- Previous experience in restoration, contents restoration, moving, warehousing, hospitality, housekeeping, customer service, or logistics is considered an asset.
- Restoration industry experience is preferred but not required.
- Experience handling delicate, valuable, or sentimental belongings is considered an asset.

Education

- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence with a satisfactory driving record.
- Successful Criminal Record Check upon hire.

Technical Skills

- Microsoft Office 365.
- Encircle, Assured Packout, or similar contents management software is considered an asset.
- Ability to learn specialized restoration equipment and documentation software.
- Comfortable using mobile devices for documentation, inventory management, and photography.

Preferred Certifications The following certifications are considered assets but are not required:

- IICRC Fire and Smoke Restoration Technician (FSRT)
- IICRC Contents Processing Technician (CPT)
- IICRC Upholstery and Fabric Cleaning Technician (UFT)
- IICRC Carpet Cleaning Technician (CCT)
- Occupational First Aid
- WHMIS

Physical Requirements

This is a physically active position requiring the ability to:

- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs safely.
- Stand, bend, kneel, climb, and work for extended periods.
- Safely move furniture and household contents.
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) for extended periods.
- Work in varying indoor and outdoor environments.
- Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to emergency situations outside regular business hours when required.
