We are a building supply and project centre providing contractors and do-it-yourself builders with the tools, materials, design, and construction services to support projects of any scale.

Reporting to the CFO, the Controller should streamline our accounting functions and operations, provide financial analysisand reports, train staff on business finance issues, promote regulatorycompliance, and drive income generation, while leading a team of accountingprofessionals. The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include:

- Ensuring compliance with all Company policies, systems,and procedures.
- Coordinating and preparing internal and externalfinancial statements and balance sheets as needed (i.e., monthly, quarterly,annually).
- Ownership of account reconciliations, bankingtransactions and internal controls.
- Planning, coordinating, and directing all accountingoperational functions including cost-benefit analyses, financial management andestimates.
- Managing the accumulation and consolidation of allfinancial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated businessresults.
- Coordinating the activities of external auditors.
- Providing management with information vital to thedecision-making process on matters related to operational effectiveness,systems, business trends,



procedures, and personnel.
- Managing the budget process.
- Assessing current accounting operations, offeringrecommendations for improvement, and implementing new processes.
- Evaluating accounting, audit, and internal controlsystems.
- Evaluating the effectiveness of accounting software andsupporting database.
- Developing and monitoring business performance metrics.
- Overseeing regulatory reporting, frequently including taxplanning and compliance.
- Hiring, training, and managing skilled accounting staff.
- Other duties as assigned.

The successful candidate will

- Be a CPA.
- Have 3-5 years of demonstrated proficiency in financemanagement with sound knowledge of accounting fundamentals.
- Have strong communication skills (oral and written).
- Have excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Have auditing experience.
- Be compliance-oriented.
- Have strong analytical skills.
- Have previous experience leading a team of accountingprofessionals.
