Position: Medical Transportation Van Driver

Term: Permanent Part time

Department: Medical Transportation

Division: Health

Salary: $22.25 per hour

Hours: Hours vary based on client medical appointments, typically scheduled between Monday to Saturday, 6:00a.m. to 11:00p.m.

Job Summary The Medical Transportation Van Driver is a key member of the Medical Transportation team, responsible for providing safe, courteous, and timely transportation for program clients. This role involves assisting clients with transportation to and from health facilities in London and the surrounding areas.

Key responsibilities include adhering to the established pick-up and drop-off schedule, assisting clients in and out of the vehicle as well as the Health Facility if required, ensuring the cleanliness of the vehicle, and completing log sheets after each trip.

The Medical Van Driver must follow all vehicle safety and maintenance procedures, comply with the Ontario Highway Safety Act, and adhere to organizational policies and procedures.

EDUCATION And EXPERIENCE

A valid Class G Driver’s License with a minimum of two (2) years of driving experience is required.

Experience in patient transportation is preferred.

A clean driving record is required.

A valid First Aid/CPR certificate is required.

Requirements Prior To Starting Employment

The successful candidate must submit a Vulnerable Sector Check (completed within a 30-day timeframe), at their own expense.

The successful candidate must submit a Driver Abstract (completed within a 30-day timeframe), at their own expense.

The successful candidate must submit a copy of applicable educational qualifications (certificates, diplomas, degrees, etc.).
