The Role of Break/Banquet Cook 2:

At the Marriott on the Falls, our culinary operations thrive with the commitment of our Associates who demonstrate/support the Marriott core values and culture of putting people first, acting with integrity, serving our world, embracing change and pursuing excellence. We are currently seeking Breakfast/Banquet Cook 2 who has a passion for creativity to join our team. Reporting directly to the Executive Chef, this position is responsible for assisting in the productive operations of the kitchen to ensure customers receive quality service and meals.

This includes but not limited to:

- Preparing menu items according to recipes/ menus designated by the Executive Chef.
- Setting up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
- Assist with the daily line operations, production and preparation of culinary items the various kitchen outlets and banquets
- Ensuring food quality and quantity is correct; storing food in accordance with food safety principles.
- Ensuring cleanliness of the work area during service and after service (including powering down necessary appliances at the end of the day).




- Adhering to all health and safety regulations and standards, and ensure a clean and safe working environment.
- Completing all assigned tasks to set standards, as instructed by a manager or supervisor (while constantly seeking to improve).
- Reporting to work in proper attire and on time following proper clock in/ clock out as outlined in the employee handbook.
- Participating in daily standup meetings.
- Demonstrating appropriate Marriott service behaviours.
- All others duties as assigned.

What we’re looking for :
- At least 1 year experience as a breakfast cook or banquet cook
- Secondary School Graduation Diploma or equivalent required; diploma from culinary school preferred.
- Must be reliable and a self- starter.
- Must have a basic understanding of breakfast preparations (i.e. eggs/ omelets in any style, etc.)
- Knowledge of various cooking procedures (i.e. baking, boiling, grilling, etc.)
- Must be able to multi-task with efficiency.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ensure uniform and personal appearance is clean and professional.
- Well organized and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as cooperatively within a team setting.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Must be able to work evening and day shifts including weekends and holidays.
