The Opportunity (Vacancy: Replacement)
Reporting to the Manager of Recreation Services, the Coordinator, Business Services oversees the recreation business system (Xplor /nextRec) including financial processes, analytics, user experience, and associated service improvements business units across the Community Services commission. The Coordinator conducts training for corporate users, recommends service improvements, develops and maintains business processes, and implements customer service workflows. The Coordinator supports the Recreation Services marketing plan, and provides data analysis, reporting, and trend evaluation to support decision making and service planning.
As the Coordinator, Business Services, you will perform the following duties, including but not limited to:
- Subject matter expert in the recreation business system (Xplor / nextRec) processes and business applications.
- Analyze and assess relevant service requirements and present recommendations for service improvements and efficiency to business unit leaders.
- Interdepartmental subject matter expert on system updates, enhancements and application in partnership with Information and Technology, and financial management solutions in partnership with Finance.
- Responsible for centralized internal system training, maintenance of training resources, and development of training materials for staff and users. Plan, implement and evaluate training for system users.
- Analyzes data to identify trends, demographics and new techniques to determine the needs of the community while ensuring that the market is responsive.
- Collects, analyzes and reports on participation trends,
service uptake, customer attraction and retention to support effective decision-making, recreation planning and service delivery across the commission.
- Assist with recreation marketing initiatives and division marketing plan, maintenance of recreation service web pages, and intranet resources.
- Recommends opportunities to maximize revenue, usage and customer service satisfaction; collects and analyzes data related to customer feedback and effectiveness of marketing and sales initiatives.
- Serves as staff representative for the system vendor, Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance, and point of contact for payment merchant and gateway solutions.
- Manages confidential information relating to accounting in recreation software system and payment solutions. This includes conducting financial analysis of system revenues, division accounts receivable, account credits, support of refund transactions and coordinates collections when required.
- Maintain responsibility for assigned duties within the department and division work plans.
The Ideal Candidate We are seeking a passionate professional with a post-secondary diploma in Business Administration or a closely related field.
Our ideal candidate has minimum 3-5 years related experience in Recreation software applications, business process management, financial management, and public administration.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills. We are seeking an individual with superior interpersonal skills including the ability to work effectively in a team setting, a demonstrated ability to exercise significant discretion, and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Certification in Business Analysis (CBAP), and/or Project Management and/or Process Management would be an asset.
The successful candidate for Coordinator, Business Services will be required to work a flexible schedule, including in the office, remotely and after hours (as required).
This position offers a salary range of $87,912.40 to $109,890.50 plus a competitive benefit package.
