Enhance First Nations governance as Corporate General Counsel at First Nations Financial Management Board (FMB). Focus on legal compliance, risk management, and corporate policy development in this hybrid position. We are seeking a highly experienced Corporate General Counsel with a minimum of 10 years in legal practice.

Your expertise will be vital in assessing legal risks, drafting agreements, and ensuring compliance with the FMA. You will work directly with the Board, represent the FMB in various legal matters, and promote ethical practices throughout the organization. Key Responsibilities:

- Provide proactive legal advice and risk assessment
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and policies
- Monitor upcoming legislative developments for compliance
- Facilitate Board governance and new Director onboarding
- Oversee external legal counsel and service providers Requirements:
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD)
- 10+ years in a law firm or as General Counsel
- Familiarity with Indigenous law and governance
- Robust background in corporate governance
- Proven communication skills, fluency in English required Drive transformational change in First Nations financial practices as FMB’s Corporate General Counsel.
