Cauridor

Canada

Who we are

Cauridor is a fast-growing cross-border payments company on a bold mission: to revolutionize Africa's financial landscape and empower the unbanked. We connect West Africa with North America and beyond, moving money across markets through a growing network of partners, products, and licensed entities — making sending and receiving money instant, seamless, and accessible through mobile wallets and bank accounts. Our teams span Guinea, Senegal, Nigeria, and other African markets alongside the USA, Canada, and Europe. Our network of strategic partners includes leading remittance companies like MoneyGram, Taptap Send, and Ria, top mobile wallet operators such as Orange and MTN, and major banks including UBA and Ecobank.

Our vision is clear: to become the #1 fintech in every market we enter, driving a new era of cashless Africa.

Role purpose

We are seeking a seasoned Country Manager to lead and scale our operations across Canada. The ideal candidate is African, deeply connected to African diaspora communities, and brings solid leadership experience in financial services, fintech, remittances, payments, or telecom ecosystems. This role is responsible for regional strategy, business growth, operational excellence, compliance, and financial performance while ensuring alignment with group-level objectives.

This is a growth-first, sales-oriented leadership role — someone who leads from the front on new business, not only from the boardroom. French language skills are a strong plus, particularly for engagement with Francophone African communities and partners.

Your Impact Zone

Regional Oversight & Strategy

- Oversee day-to-day operations in Canada.
- Lead the development and execution of short- and long-term strategy for the Canada market.
- Ensure country-level operations align with Group objectives and corporate policies.
- Act as a bridge between Group leadership and the local Canada team.

Business Development & Growth

- Personally identify and develop new business opportunities, partnerships, and corridors — this role is expected to actively sell, not only oversee sales.
- Leverage deep knowledge of African and diaspora communities to drive adoption and growth.
- Support local teams in expanding operations and launching new products or projects.
- Develop and implement strategies to achieve growth and revenue targets for the Canada market.

Operational Excellence

- Monitor key operational metrics including transactions,

fees, FX margins, commissions, and reporting.
- Standardize and optimize local processes to ensure efficiency, scalability, and compliance.
- Drive continuous improvement in service delivery and customer experience.

Team Leadership & Development

- Lead, coach, and support department heads and the local Canada team.
- Build a strong leadership pipeline and ensure talent development and succession planning.
- Foster a performance-driven, collaborative, and culturally aware work environment.

Compliance & Governance

- Ensure adherence to local regulations, internal policies, and audit requirements in Canada.
- Serve as the point of contact for regulators, government agencies, and key stakeholders in the Canada market.
- Support and oversee internal and external audits.

Financial Management

- Oversee the Canada budget, forecasts, and expenditures.
- Ensure financial targets are met and resources are allocated efficiently.
- Support financial reporting and consolidation into regional/Group reporting.

What success looks like in the first year

- A visible, personally-driven pipeline of new business, partnerships, or corridors that this MD brought in directly, not just oversaw.
- Strong, credible engagement with African diaspora communities and partners in Canada, translating into measurable growth.
- Clean compliance and audit outcomes, with a solid working relationship established with relevant Canada regulators.
- The local team is well-led, with clear development plans and a strong performance culture.
- Group leadership has full visibility into Canada performance through consistent, accurate reporting.

Your Toolkit for the Role

- Significant senior leadership experience (typically 8–10 years) in financial services, fintech, remittances, payments, or telecom ecosystems.
- A genuine, demonstrated network within African diaspora communities in Canada — this is a core requirement, not a nice-to-have.
- Strong sales/business development instincts and track record — this role is measured heavily on growth personally driven,

not just operations managed.
- Experience engaging directly with Canada regulators (e.g., FinCEN, state-level money transmitter requirements) and managing audits.
- Comfortable owning full P&L; responsibility for a country operation.
- French language skills are a strong plus, particularly for engagement with Francophone African communities and partners.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
