Job Summary:

The Department of Psychology is seeking a qualified instructor to teach Social Development (PSYC 414) during the Fall 2026 term. This course examines advanced study of the development of social behaviour and social cognition in children.

Topics include: socialization, attachment, aggression, exploration, role taking, communication, family and peer relations, self and person perception. The development of these social processes within the framework of three general theories of development: behaviour genetics, learning, and cognitive-developmental.

Key Responsibilities:

· Prepare and deliver formal lectures on topics in cognition

· Organize and facilitate classroom discussions and student presentations

· Assess student work, including assignments, presentations, and research project reports

· Supervise and support Teaching Assistants assigned to the course

Teaching Qualification Requirements:

Prior teaching experience in the content area of the course
