Make It Ring

We run Google Ads for local service businesses. Unglamorous industries, very real money.

Now we're marketing ourselves, and we have a standard: a marketing agency with boring ads is a bakery with stale bread. We'd rather run nothing than run "5 Tips To Grow Your Business."

We're hiring one person to own our creative. Ideas, production, the whole thing.

The brief behind this posting

Liquid Death sells water. Plain water. They became the loudest brand in beverages by refusing to act like a water company, and proved the product doesn't need to be exciting for the marketing to be.

Nobody has done this in our industries. That's the assignment. You'd be doing it with our budget.

The job

Ideas are the job. You pitch concepts that make a blue collar company owner stop scrolling at 11pm, a skit, a recurring character, a fake documentary, something nobody's tried. We greenlight fast. Weird is welcome. Boring is the only thing that gets rejected.

You produce them for real. Some ads are you, a phone, and an afternoon, with this audience, raw often beats polished. When a concept deserves more, you produce it properly: cast the actor, book the location, get the truck, direct the shoot, keep the day on schedule. Production costs come out of our budget. You're the person who takes an idea from one sentence to a finished thing that exists.

Everything gets tested with real money. Every ad ships. You see the numbers, thumbstop rate, watch time, cost per lead. Winners get versioned and scaled. Losers die fast and teach us something. We ship every month, not one masterpiece a quarter,

because the data picks the winner and it's rarely the one anyone predicted. You'll build the one instinct school can't teach: knowing why something worked, with receipts.

You'd be our first creative hire. Your concepts, your shoots, your name.

Who this fits

- You already make short-form content — for a brand, a club, or your own account.
- You can run a small shoot: find an actor, pick a location, direct a person, keep the day moving. Or you want to learn it with real stakes.
- You go from idea to finished, edited video.
- Advertising / media production / RTA students: this is the shipped, real-budget portfolio work you can't get in class. Film students welcome if your instinct is hooks, not slow opens.
- No degree required. No software checklist. No "5+ years."

Money and structure Freelance, project-based. Paid per finished deliverable. Works out to $30–35+/hour for someone productive; fast, good work raises your rate. plus a bonus when an ad you conceived becomes a top performer. Production budget is separate, pitching us on why a concept deserves a bigger one is part of the craft. You invoice us; you control when and where you work.

How to apply

No cover letter. Send:

- Three pieces of short-form content you made. Links, not files.
- One paragraph: an ad, any brand, that genuinely stopped you recently, and why it worked. "It was funny" is not an answer. Explain the mechanism.
- Anythig that would be relevant.

Pay: From $30.00 per hour

Benefits

- Casual dress
- Flexible schedule

Work Location: In person
