- Assist with implementing programming and developmental activities for assigned clients
- Assist with daily activities, including facility and equipment set-up, take-down and clean-up
- Provide physical care, including lifting, transferring, toileting, positioning and feeding
- Communicate with staff, participants and families as part of a team
- Perform housekeeping duties such as cleaning toys and mats
- Complete daily documentation of care for assigned clients
- Follow organizational policies and procedures regarding privacy, confidentiality, safety and infection prevention
- Participate in education and quality and safety improvement activities
- Ensure supervision and safety of assigned clients
- Provide services at the Thurston Site, Smyth Site and in the community

Requirements

- College or University degree in a related field such as DSW, ECE, PSW, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Nursing or Recreational Therapy, or equivalent education and experience with special needs children (essential)
- Minimum 1 year of recent related experience working with children with disabilities (essential)
- Current CPR Certification (essential)
- Vulnerable Sector Check (Level 3) (essential)
- Bilingualism in French and English preferred
- Physical strength and stamina required
- Availability to work weekends and evenings
- Ability to provide physical care,



including lifting, transferring, toileting, positioning and feeding
- Ability to meet minimum linguistic profile before date of hire if bilingualism is required
- Willingness to undergo pre-screening, which may include written tests, practical exams or other assessments
