Role Description The Dance Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality ballroom, Latin, and social dance instruction to students of varying ages and skill levels. This full-time, on-site role in Toronto, ON includes teaching private lessons and group classes, demonstrating dance techniques, and providing constructive feedback to support student progress.
The Dance
Teacher will develop individualized lesson plans, prepare students for social events and showcases, and help learners feel confident and comfortable on the dance floor.
Additional responsibilities include maintaining a positive studio atmosphere, collaborating with the instructional team, and participating in studio events, parties, and promotional activities. The role requires strong interpersonal skills, a passion for dance education, and a commitment to creating an inclusive and encouraging environment for all students.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Dance Instruction and Teaching, with experience guiding students at beginner and intermediate levels.
- Background in Dance and Dance Education, including familiarity with Ballroom, Latin, and social dance styles.
- Understanding of Music and rhythm, with the ability to help students connect movement to musical timing and phrasing.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate, encourage, and adapt to diverse learning styles.
- Prior studio, performance, or competition experience is an asset.
- Ability to work full-time in office in Toronto, ON, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Professional, reliable, and punctual, with strong organizational skills and a student-centered approach.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training and certification provided by Arthur Murray.
