Power BI Analyst

Location: Toronto

Work Model: Hybrid, 2 days/week in office

Contract: 12 months, with potential extension and conversion

Start: ASAP

Hours: Monday–Friday, standard business hours

Role Overview

We are seeking a Power BI Analyst to lead reporting and analytics across workforce, vendor, and financial performance. This role will develop and optimize Power BI dashboards, reports, and data models while translating complex data into actionable insights for business teams and senior leadership.

Working independently within a small team, you will partner closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, prioritize reporting needs, and deliver reliable, user-friendly solutions.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop, enhance, and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and data models supporting KPI and QPR reporting.
- Use DAX, Power Query, and data modeling to deliver scalable, high-performing reporting solutions.
- Analyze and reverse engineer existing Power BI solutions to identify opportunities for optimization and improved user experience.
- Design, troubleshoot, and enhance Power Automate workflows to automate reporting and business processes.
- Partner with stakeholders to gather requirements, translate business needs into technical solutions, and manage competing priorities.
- Lead stakeholder discussions, provide recommendations, and set explicit expectations around scope, timelines, and deliverables.
- Monitor data quality, report performance,



and refresh processes to ensure accurate and reliable reporting.
- Manage reporting requests from intake and prioritization through implementation.

Must-Have Qualifications
- 1+ year of experience supporting executive-level reporting and KPI dashboards.
- Postsecondary education.
- Advanced Power BI expertise, including data modeling, DAX, Power Query, report design, and performance optimization.
- Strong Power Automate experience, including workflow development and process automation.
- Experience reverse engineering and improving existing reporting solutions and data flows.
- Knowledge of data governance, reporting best practices, and business intelligence standards.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and relationship management skills.
- Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven ability to facilitate discussions, influence decisions, manage expectations, and drive initiatives through implementation.

Nice to Have
- Financial services or enterprise-scale reporting experience.
- Experience managing projects and coordinating deliverables.
- Relevant postsecondary education.
