Goodwill’s Used Cars is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant/Controller to oversee the financial operations of our busy automotive dealership. We are a family-owned and operated business that has proudly served the community since 1974.

This is a full-time, on-site position for someone who is organized, dependable and comfortable managing the day-to-day accounting responsibilities of a dealership. The successful candidate will work closely with ownership and management to ensure accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls and the smooth operation of the accounting department.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Complete daily and monthly bank reconciliations
- Process and review vehicle deal postings
- Reconcile vehicle inventory, flooring accounts and schedules
- Monitor cash flow
- Prepare and submit HST, payroll and other government remittances
- Assist with payroll administration and employee records
- Maintain accurate records for vehicle purchases, sales and wholesale transactions
- Establish and maintain effective internal accounting controls




- Ensure accounting records comply with applicable regulations and company policies

Qualifications

- Previous accounting or bookkeeping experience is required
- Automotive dealership accounting experience is strongly preferred
- Experience with PBS Systems or another dealership management system is an asset
- Solid understanding of general ledger accounting, financial statements and account reconciliations
- Knowledge of Ontario payroll, HST and government remittance preferred
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage deadlines and handle multiple responsibilities
- Solid communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality
