About the Role

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Deficiency Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for completing finishing repairs, touch-ups, and deficiency work to ensure residential and/or commercial units are completed to a high standard before turnover to clients, homeowners, or project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform minor drywall repairs, sanding, patching, caulking, silicone work, and painting touch-ups.
- Adjust, repair, or install basic hardware, doors, cabinets, trim, fixtures, and other finishing components.
- Review deficiency lists, punch lists, and inspection reports to prioritize and complete assigned work.
- Conduct quality checks to ensure units or areas are clean, safe, and ready for occupancy or handover.
- Communicate clearly with site supervisors, trades, homeowners, and team members regarding outstanding items and completed work.
- Maintain tools, materials, and work areas in a safe, organized, and professional manner.
- Follow all site safety procedures and company policies at all times.

Qualifications

- Previous experience as a Deficiency Technician, Finishing Technician,



Handyman, Painter, or similar construction role.
- Strong knowledge of residential or commercial construction finishing standards.
- Ability to complete minor repairs in drywall, paint, caulking, cabinetry, doors, trim, and hardware.
- Excellent attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Good communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Own basic hand tools and appropriate personal protective equipment preferred.
- Safety certifications such as WHMIS, First Aid, or Fall Protection are considered an asset.

Compensation: 25 -32/hr

Pay: $25.00-$32.00 per hour
