Carmichael Meats is looking for an experienced, dependable and professional Delivery Driver to join our team in West Lorne, Ontario.

This is a part-time contract position, generally offering approximately 20 hours per week, with the possibility of additional hours depending on business needs.

Hours and start times may vary. The successful candidate must have flexible availability throughout the week, including Monday through Friday and weekends as required.

The Delivery Driver will primarily work independently, operating a company-provided cargo van to deliver food products safely and efficiently to our customers. The position also includes assisting with setup and deliveries for trade shows, events and other company activities when required.

Responsibilities

- Safely operate a company-provided cargo van.
- Pick up and deliver food products to customers.
- Load and unload products safely and efficiently.
- Ensure customer orders are delivered accurately and in good condition.
- Provide friendly and professional service to customers.
- Follow assigned delivery routes and schedules.
- Maintain the cleanliness and general condition of the delivery vehicle.
- Complete basic delivery documentation as required.
- Assist with loading, unloading and setting up products or displays at shows and events.
- Safely handle and move products weighing 50 lb or more as part of the regular duties of the position.
- Follow company food-handling, workplace-safety and transportation procedures.
- Perform other delivery- and event-related duties as required.

Qualifications and Requirements

- Valid Ontario Full G driver’s licence is required.
- Clean driver’s abstract is required.
- Previous professional delivery-driving experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience driving a cargo van or similar vehicle is an asset.




- Must be comfortable working independently for much of the day.
- Must be dependable, punctual and responsible.
- Must be comfortable with a physically demanding position involving frequent lifting, carrying, loading and unloading.
- Must be able to safely perform the physical requirements of the position, including handling products weighing 50 lb or more, with accommodation as required by applicable law.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good communication and customer-service skills.
- Ability to safely transport and handle food products.
- Ability to follow delivery instructions, routes and schedules.

Availability Applicants must have flexible availability seven days a week.

Most work will take place Monday through Friday; however, weekend work may be required depending on deliveries, shows, events and other business needs.

Hours will vary from week to week. The position is expected to average approximately 20 hours per week, with the opportunity for additional hours when available.

Compensation

$19-$25 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
