Job Title

Delivery Driver

Reports To The Delivery Driver will report to the Team Lead and/or the Branch Manager.

Job Overview The Delivery Driver is responsible for providing excellent customer service while delivering and picking up freight, ranging from envelopes to larger items such as skids. This role involves ensuring the timely, safe, and professional transportation of goods. Drivers are expected to scan, load, and secure freight in accordance with safety guidelines.

Additionally, the Delivery Driver is responsible for navigating routes efficiently while maintaining a professional demeanor that represents the company positively.

Responsibilities and Duties

- Complete a pre AND post vehicle electronic inspection form.
- Ensure all necessary fluids are topped off and the vehicle is road worthy.
- Refuel the truck at the end of each shift.
- Replace and hand in the Fuel Log from every vehicle.
- Return keys, fuel cards and receipts, POS machine, scanners, and Vehicle Inspection Sheets. Ensure any new safety postings are read and signed. Ensure POS machine and all equipment has been signed in and out.
- Ensure vehicle is cleaned out daily and washed as necessary.
- Assist with fleet vehicle drop-offs/pickups for maintenance.
- Ensuring all applicable deliveries have been assigned and are showing on the handheld.




- Ensure all freight is sorted in order of delivery, ensuring that all freight within the delivery route is accounted for, scanned on their handheld, which will then be loaded and secured properly into the specified vehicle.
- Pay attention to the handheld device for any pickups.
- Navigate the route in a safe efficient manner following all safety, traffic, and DOT laws, while delivering freight in a professional and efficient manner.
- Collect import duties using POS machines, obtain recipient signatures via handheld scanning devices, and complete each delivery by capturing proof of delivery through the handheld system, including photo documentation.
- Label undeliverable packages in a manner that the warehouse clerk understands. Leave and scan an information notice to be left at the customer’s residence so the status of their package is known.
- Unload freight and ensure proper warehouse placement. Ensure that undeliverable packages reach a destination whether that be an Access Point or the O.N.E Transport Group warehouse to be processed by the Warehouse Clerk.
- Ensure all packages have been processed correctly and none have been left in the delivery vehicle.
- Attend safety compliance meetings and complete training when necessary.
- Assist drivers who have been swamped with deliveries and/or cover the routes that need to be covered due to various reasons.
- Assist with any other tasks as required.

- Must adhere to all safety protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Safety vests are provided by the organization; however, employees are required to supply their own steel-toe footwear.

Qualifications and Skills

- Experience driving a 1-ton cube van or 5-ton truck an asset.
- Strong communication skills.
- Clean driving record (no more than 3 demerits).
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to lift 75lbs alone and up to 150 lbs with assistance.
- Excellent customer service.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with and without supervision.
- Courteous and respectful demeanor with customers and coworkers.
- Safe operation of company vehicle.
- Problem solving and critical thinking.

Certifications/Requirements

- High school / College certificate an asset.
- 2 years courier driving experience or 1 year customer service and 3 years driving experience.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Driver’s Abstract.
