North Pole Trim & Supplies Ltd. Has been serving London and Southwestern Ontario since 1979, supplying interior trim, doors, hardware, storage solutions, and related building products to residential home builders, renovation contractors, multi-family developments, commercial projects, and DYI customers.

About the Role:

The delivery Helper’s main role is to safety load and unload materials while providing exceptional customer service ensuring products arrive accurately and damage-free. The delivery helper will not be driving the trucks so responsibilities include assisting the Delivery Drivers in completing customer orders, organizing order paperwork and reporting shortages and claims to the dispatch supervisors.

This position is part of the Local 1072 Employee Group

Responsibilities

- Checks orders for accuracy.
- Organizes and secures load.
- Assists in maintaining good housekeeping in yard and warehouse.
- Deliveries and unloads materials to customer’s satisfaction.
- Follows guidelines from supervisor and delivery drivers
- Completes necessary paperwork
- Assists in unloading material returned for credit
- Relays messages sent by customers while on job
- Works in the yard when they are not assigned a delivery, or if they get back early from their delivery; stocking and retrieving warehouse, products, loading trucks, assist with deliveries, customer service and general housekeeping tasks.
- Assists supervisor, other employees and other work areas, as may be needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management to meet business needs.

Qualifications/Education/Experience:

- High School Diploma or general equivalency degree (GED) preferred.
- Working at Heights training is required for certain delivery locations and will be provided to successful candidates.
- Valid G license preferred with a clean Ontario Driver Abstract





Environmental and Physical Working Conditions:

- Often working outside in temperatures ranging from extreme heart to extreme cold.
- Hand on work environment
- Regular travel to customer locations, including residential homes, commercial properties, construction sites, and high-rise buildings
- Frequent loading, unloading and delivery of building materials in a variety of environments and site conditions.

Physical Demands:

- Strength (lift, carry, push and pull): Maximum lift 100 lbs; frequently lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, with manual dexterity and see acute depth perception and field of vision.
- Trunk rotation with 20lbs at arm’s length 180 degrees from side to side.
- Bend, stoop or squat to floor level on a repetitive basis.
- Reach over head to grasp materials
