We are seeking a talented, detail-oriented Design Studio Fabricator to join our small team. Working in our workshop studio, you will help transform our design concepts into high-quality finished pieces.

This is a hands-on, labour-intensive position involving a range of raw materials, tools and fabrication techniques. You should be comfortable working with your hands using both hand and power tools.

At the minimum, we are looking for someone who can be an excellent shop fabricator and problem solver with a keen eye for detail. Much of the work will involve metal and stone, along with a variety of other materials depending on the project. A formal background in fabrication is not necessarily required. Practical ability, curiosity, belief in craftsmanship and the ability to figure things out is also very important.

Additional skills and knowledge that could be valuable
- Digital design and drawing skills using Adobe Creative Suite and CAD
- Experience in 3D printing or parts machining
- Brazing, welding and other metalworking techniques
- Electrical and mechanical design, fabrication and repair
- Designing and building jigs, fixtures and shop tools to improve fabrication processes
- Electrical wiring and troubleshooting
- LED technology and lighting

About the role Because we are a small studio, this position offers the prospect to be involved in many different aspects of the design and fabrication process. The work can range from straightforward production to customized prototypes to solving fabrication challenges that have never been encountered before.

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
