Payworks

Winnipeg

Doing business to business, person to person. Payworks is a leading workforce management solutions provider and multi-year winner of the Canada’s Best Managed Companies program. We are proudly Canadian and committed to developing world-class products and providing a progressive workplace culture where Doing Right by People is our purpose.

With clients of all sizes and more than 600 employees, we currently have an exciting opportunity on our Marketing team for the right candidate. Because when it comes to outstanding people, there’s always room for one more.

DOING RIGHT BY PEOPLE – IT’S WHAT WE DO

Reporting directly to the Lead, Brand & Content, the Digital Content & Media Specialist is the public voice of Payworks across our owned and paid digital channels. They own our social media platforms, blog and third-party review presence, and help coordinate media placements across digital, industry, print and out-of-home.

This is a role for an AI-first marketer who uses Claude and other AI tools every day to research, draft, version, and repurpose – and who is just as confident showing up as themselves, not as “the brand,” in a LinkedIn comment, a Reddit thread, or hosting a webinar. Working within established programming and campaign frameworks, and backed by Creative Services, Growth Marketing, Brand & Content, and Sales Enablement, they are comfortable on camera and energized by live audience engagement.

WHY YOU SHOULD CHOOSE PAYWORKS

- Comprehensive employer paid benefits, including a Health Spending Account, for you and your family and excellent pension plan with employer contributions.
- Plenty of professional development opportunities.
- Community-minded culture – Receive two paid days per year to volunteer and lots of opportunity to “Pay it Forward”.
- Time and flexibility to meet your needs – Hybrid work model with flexible work options, plus 3 weeks vacation to start, flex time and parental leave benefits.
- Cool perks – Annual Lifestyle Spending Account, fun office environment and events, and more!

CREATE, PUBLISH & ENGAGE – IT’S WHAT YOU’LL DO

- Content creation and repurposing – You’ll write AEO and SEO informed copy across formats and repurpose content for different audiences and buyer journey stages. You’ll create net-new content from product and solution documentation, use AI daily for drafting, editing, versioning, and optimization, and execute the owned media calendar and publishing schedule.

+Social media and owned media management – You’ll manage and publish across our social platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X, Reddit) and the Payworks blog, executing the publishing schedule in step with the broader marketing content calendar. You’ll report on performance to inform what we do next, and keep our Google Business profiles and other listings accurate. +Community engagement and brand ambassadorship – You’ll serve as Payworks’ primary online ambassador, engaging in first person or as “the brand” when appropriate – across LinkedIn, Reddit, and community forums. You will actively seek out and engage in relevant conversations to build brand awareness. You’ll appear on camera and in videos and build authentic relationships with partners, customers, and prospects; showing up where payroll, HR, and accounting professionals gather.

+Distribution and media coordination – You’ll coordinate distribution across paid social, digital platforms, newsletters, web properties, and communities, and execute media placements across digital publications, industry media, print, and out-of-home – working with Creative Services to translate requirements into briefs, manage specs and deadlines, and deliver final creative to publishers.

+Reviews, sales and marketing support – You’ll monitor and respond to review sites (Google Reviews, G2, Capterra, Gartner) and app marketplace reviews using pre-set escalation playbooks aligned with brand voice. You’ll monitor and qualify leads from social channels and intent tools, administer social listening programs, and use performance insights to influence future programming.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

- Three or more years of experience in social media management, community management, digital content, or digital marketing, and/or a diploma or degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Creative Communications, or a related field.
- Exceptional writing, editing and proofreading skills, with a strong portfolio of social, digital and editorial content.
- AI proficiency is a core competency. Candidates must demonstrate hands-on fluency with AI tools (in particular Claude) for writing, research,

editing, versioning, and repurposing – not just familiarity.
- Deep, hands-on proficiency with social media platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X, Reddit) and scheduling/management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Buffer).
- Comfort and confidence on camera, facilitating webinars and delivering video content, along with a professional and authentic personal brand presence online.
- Skilled in Adobe Express and basic social video editing tools, with a strong layout and design sensibility, plus proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Understanding of social media analytics, SEO and AEO (AI engine optimization) principles, and using data to improve content strategies.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously – content creation, scheduling, media coordination, lead management, community engagement, and response management – with exceptional attention to detail.
- Experience with CRM and marketing automation platforms, Monday.com or similar workflow tools, or media buying and creative trafficking is considered an asset.
- Fluency in both official languages (French/English) is an asset, with the ability to communicate effectively in both.
