BC Pavco

Vancouver

At BC Place, a division of BC Pavilion Corporation (PavCo), we work to create unforgettable moments, world-class experiences and stronger connections to community, industry and culture.

As Western Canada's leading venue for live events, we host a year-round schedule of sporting events, concerts, consumer shows and more each year while also supporting the community through an array of ongoing partnerships and initiatives.

Finding the right finance leader for a stadium is about more than producing accurate financial statements. It's about finding someone who can thrive in a fast-paced, event-driven business where concert nights can run late, operational decisions happen in real time, and leadership teams rely on financial insight to drive strategy. This role is ideal for a senior finance leader who loves getting into the details, building strong teams, and turning complex financial information into a clear business story.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Director, Finance of BC Place is an experienced business and people leader responsible for providing financial oversight, direction, and leadership across the organization. Working closely with the Finance team, senior leadership, and operational stakeholders, this role ensures best-in-class financial reporting, analysis, controls, and compliance while helping drive strategic business decisions.

This is a highly visible leadership role within a dynamic venue and events environment. No two days are the same at BC Place. One day you may be leading the annual budgeting process, negotiating financial terms within a major contract, or presenting forecast updates to executives. The next, you may be overseeing event settlements following a sold-out concert that wrapped long after most offices have turned off the lights.

The successful candidate is a strong accounting professional first and foremost. They bring deep technical expertise, exceptional analytical capabilities, and the ability to translate financial results into meaningful business insights. They are equally comfortable reviewing complex reconciliations, coaching a finance team, supporting negotiations, and presenting strategic recommendations to executives.

What You Will Do

- Lead all day-to-day financial operations for the BC Place, including oversight and integration of shared services accounting functions.
- Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and completeness of financial records across all departments.
- Oversee general ledger management, account reconciliations, and month-end and year-end close processes.

- Maintain and continuously improve financial policies, procedures, workflows, and internal controls.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and maintain financial reporting in accordance with PSAB requirements.

- Advise senior leaders on financial impacts, emerging issues, and opportunities affecting business plans and budgets.
