Director of Business Development & Partnerships

Craft Cellars / Bin 905 | Calgary, AB

Help Us Build What Comes Next

Craft Cellars / Bin 905 is looking for an energetic, entrepreneurial and highly relationship-driven Director of Business Development & Partnerships to help lead the next stage of our growth.

With three retail locations, a strong e-commerce business, a growing corporate program, an established wholesale and licensee business, and a loyal customer base, we have built a significant foundation. Now we are looking for the right person to help us turn that foundation into new opportunities.

This is not simply a sales position.

We are looking for someone who sees opportunities, builds relationships, generates ideas and, most importantly, turns those ideas into business.

Working closely with ownership and our management, product and marketing teams, you will help develop new corporate and licensee business, create partnerships, build engaging retail events and experiences, strengthen relationships with our existing customers, and identify new ways to grow the Craft Cellars / Bin 905 business.

If you are someone who naturally connects people, enjoys opening doors, has strong commercial instincts and gets excited about building something, we would like to meet you.

What You'll Do: Business Development, Corporate & Licensee Growth

- Develop new corporate accounts throughout Calgary and surrounding areas
- Grow and strengthen our existing corporate client relationships
- Identify and develop new wholesale and licensee opportunities with restaurants, bars, hospitality groups and other licensed establishments
- Build strong relationships with existing and prospective licensee customers and identify opportunities to grow their business with Craft Cellars
- Identify opportunities in corporate gifting, client appreciation, staff programs, events and custom beverage programs
- Build a strong pipeline of prospective clients and actively turn opportunities into revenue
- Develop relationships with businesses, hospitality groups, event planners and other organizations that can become long-term customers or partners
- Represent Craft Cellars / Bin 905 at networking opportunities, community events and industry functions

Partnerships & New Opportunities
- Identify and develop strategic partnerships that introduce Craft Cellars / Bin 905 to new customers
- Build relationships within Calgary's business, restaurant, hospitality and broader community
- Develop creative collaborations with restaurants, businesses, suppliers, organizations and other potential partners
- Continually look for recent revenue opportunities across our retail, corporate, e-commerce and wholesale/licensee channels
- Bring forward ideas and opportunities to ownership and take responsibility for moving strong ideas from concept to execution

Retail Events & Customer Engagement
- Work with our three retail locations to develop engaging events, tastings, launches and experiences that create store traffic and generate sales
- Develop initiatives that give existing customers more reasons to shop and engage with us
- Help create programs that increase customer purchase frequency, loyalty and long-term value
- Identify opportunities to re-engage customers and introduce them to different areas of our wine, spirits and beer portfolio
- Work with our store teams and product directors to turn their expertise and ideas into customer-facing opportunities

Collaboration & Execution
- Work closely with ownership on growth priorities and new business opportunities
- Collaborate with our Wine Director, Whisky & Spirits Director, store managers and marketing team to execute initiatives across the business
- Work with our internal team to support and grow wholesale/licensee relationships and opportunities
- Ensure opportunities are followed through from idea to execution and, ultimately, measurable results
- Track business development activity, opportunities and results so we understand what is driving growth

Who We're Looking For The right person may come from beverage alcohol, but they don't necessarily have to. We are more interested in finding someone with energy, relationships, commercial instincts and a demonstrated ability to create business.

You may have built your career in business development, hospitality, hotels, restaurants, events, luxury retail, corporate sales, beverage agencies, wholesale or another relationship-driven industry.

Ideally, you are someone who:

- Has a proven track record in business development, sales, partnerships or relationship-based growth
- Is a natural relationship builder who enjoys meeting people and developing long-term connections
- Has an entrepreneurial mindset and sees opportunities others may overlook
- Is comfortable prospecting and opening new doors
- Can take an idea and turn it into an executable plan
- Has the energy and personality to represent our brands in the Calgary community
- Is commercially minded and understands that great ideas ultimately need to produce results
- Is self-motivated and comfortable working with a high degree of independence
- Is organized and has strong follow-through
- Enjoys collaborating with different personalities and departments
- Has an established network in Calgary or a demonstrated ability to build one
- Has an interest in wine,

spirits, beer, food, hospitality and premium customer experiences

Strong beverage knowledge and experience working with restaurants, hospitality or licensee accounts are assets, but curiosity, relationships and business-building ability are more important to us than being a product expert on day one. A valid driver's licence and reliable transportation are required.

How We'll Measure Success

Success in this position isn't measured by activity alone. We are looking for measurable growth.

That includes

- New corporate accounts and increased corporate business
- Growth in wholesale and licensee business
- Growth within existing corporate and licensee relationships
- New partnerships and revenue opportunities
- Successful retail events and customer experiences
- Increased customer engagement and repeat business
- A healthy pipeline of future opportunities
- Initiatives that generate measurable incremental revenue across our three locations and other business channels

Compensation & Opportunity
- Competitive base salary plus performance-based compensation
- Meaningful earning potential tied to results
- Employee purchasing program
- Opportunity to have a significant impact on the direction and growth of an established Calgary business
- Direct involvement with ownership and senior members of the Craft Cellars / Bin 905 team
- A high degree of autonomy to develop and pursue new opportunities

This is an opportunity for the right person to do more than manage a sales territory or maintain an existing book of business. We want someone who wants to help build what's next.
