This full-time role is critical in maintaining our insect rearing operations and involves varied tasks from preparing fly media to managing fly colonies. Working with the Upstream Processing Lead, you will gain insights into the inner workings of biotech, develop essential skills, and contribute to a culture that values innovation and transparency.
Key Responsibilities:
• Execute daily fly tipping and cage management
• Prepare media using food-secure ingredients while ensuring quality
• Record data metrics with high accuracy for strain integrity
• Collect biomass following established protocols
• Ensure cleanliness by managing sanitation of equipment
Requirements:
• High attention to detail and procedural adherence
• Proven time management skills necessary for task completion
• Enjoy working collaboratively with a team to facilitate processes
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and handle repetitive tasks
• Preferred experience in food preparation or handling of fruit flies
