Become a part of GFL’s Emergency Response division in Bowmanville as a Hazardous Material Operator. Deliver essential emergency services and maintain safety in high-pressure situations.
This role is critical for effective emergency response activities, such as conducting environmental clean-ups and managing hazardous materials. Applicants should possess pre-service training in fire, police, or medical fields and relevant certifications, including NFPA 472. Your commitment to safety and your expertise will enhance GFL's response capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Operate in confined spaces and high-risk situations • Support hazardous materials consulting and chemical firefighting • Engage in standby rescue work as necessary • Complete necessary documentation for emergency responses • Adhere to relevant safety and health regulations
Requirements: • Relevant post-secondary education background • Experience or training in hazardous materials • Valid DZ driver's license with an acceptable record • On-call availability for emergency response • Strong communication skills in English, French a plus
