Position Summary
Joseph Transportation Group is seeking an organized, proactive, and detail-oriented US Tank Division Planner to join our operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and coordinating cross-border tanker operations, maximizing equipment utilization, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing outstanding service to both customers and drivers.
This position requires strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and the ability to make sound operational decisions in a dynamic transportation environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and dispatch tanker loads throughout Canada and the United States.
- Optimize driver schedules, routes, and equipment utilization to maximize efficiency and profitability.
- Coordinate pickups and deliveries while meeting customer service expectations.
- Monitor driver Hours of Service (HOS) and ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and Canadian transportation regulations.
- Communicate with drivers regarding load assignments, route changes, delays, and operational updates.
- Work closely with clients, terminals, maintenance personnel,
and internal departments to ensure seamless operations.
- Resolve service issues quickly and effectively while maintaining strong customer relationships.
- Monitor shipment progress and proactively address operational challenges.
- Maintain accurate operational records and documentation.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the operations department.
Qualifications
- Previous transportation dispatch or load planning experience preferred.
- Experience with tanker operations and cross-border freight is considered a robust asset.
- Knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations and Hours of Service requirements.
- Strong geographical knowledge of Canada and the United States.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
- Proficiency with transportation management software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Post-secondary education in Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field is considered an asset.

Pay: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
