Group plays a critical role in supporting lawyers and business professionals nationwide, delivering high-quality document production and administrative support services across multiple offices.
Your New Role
As Supervisor, Document Services Group, you will lead a national team responsible for delivering exceptional document production and support services to legal and business teams across Canada. Reporting to the Manager, National Document Services Group, you will oversee workflow management, client service delivery, staff development, and operational performance for a growing team that can reach approximately 20+ team members when fully staffed.
This role is less about being the most technical document production expert and more about being a strong people leader who can understand the team's work, effectively manage operations, and build a high-performing culture. You will supervise Document Specialists and Team Leads, balance competing priorities, monitor service levels, and ensure the team consistently delivers high-quality work in a fast-paced professional services environment. The firm is also investing heavily in technology and AI-driven solutions, making this an exciting opportunity for a leader who embraces innovation and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include
- Leading, coaching,
and developing a national Document Services team
- Managing daily workflow, intake processes, resource allocation, and service delivery
- Supervising team performance and supporting employee engagement and development
- Monitoring staffing levels, scheduling, coverage, and workload distribution
- Ensuring quality control standards are maintained across all document production services
- Acting as a key liaison between internal clients and the Document Services Group
- Producing operational reports, tracking service metrics, and identifying areas for improvement
- Supporting change management initiatives, process enhancements, and technology adoption
- Collaborating with leaders across multiple offices to ensure a seamless national service model
- Contributing to the firm's ongoing modernization initiatives, including emerging AI-enabled solutions within document services operations
What You'll Need to Succeed To be successful in this position, you will bring:
- Previous experience leading sizeable operational, administrative, shared services, or document production teams
- A minimum of 10 direct reports managed in a prior leadership role, with experience overseeing larger teams being highly preferred
- 3-5 years of supervisory or people management experience,
although candidates with additional leadership experience will also be considered
- Strong leadership, coaching, conflict resolution, and employee development skills
- Experience managing teams across multiple locations or within a national organization
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to thrive in a quick-paced, deadline-driven workplace
- A technology-forward mindset and enthusiasm for process improvement and emerging AI solutions
- Experience within a law firm, professional services environment, document production centre, shared services function, or corporate support operation would be considered a significant asset
- Fluency in French would be considered an asset, but is not required
- The ability to work the designated shift of Monday to Friday, 5:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. EST
- Residence within approximately one hour of a firm office located in Canada
