We are seeking a skilled Taper to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have experience in drywall finishing and be proficient in applying tape and joint compound to create a smooth surface for painting. This role is essential in ensuring high-quality finishes in various construction projects, contributing to the overall aesthetic and structural integrity of the work.
Responsibilities
- Apply tape and joint compound to drywall seams, corners, and edges to achieve a seamless finish.
- Smooth and feather joint compound using hand tools or mechanical tools to prepare surfaces for painting.
- Inspect finished work for quality assurance, ensuring all surfaces are even and free from imperfections.
- Collaborate with other construction professionals, including carpenters and painters, to ensure project timelines are met.
- Read and interpret blueprints to understand project specifications and requirements.
- Perform caulking as needed around windows, doors, and other openings to enhance insulation and appearance.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction painting and drywall finishing is preferred.
- Strong skills in caulking, blueprint reading, and general maintenance person tasks.
- Familiarity with carpentry techniques is a plus.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
- Robust communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and clients.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor tasks associated with the role.
