The position focuses on surveillance in a locked maximum-security area, requiring applicants to possess high school education and relevant experience in guarding individuals. As a Custodial Guard, you will assist in prisoner transfers, perform minor janitorial duties, and maintain accurate records. Strong observational skills and the ability to respond calmly in emergencies are essential for success.
Key Responsibilities:
• Monitor prisoners for security and welfare
• Search cells before and after prisoner entry
• Accompany prisoners during transfers with R.C.M.P. members
• Maintain prisoner log books and enter data
• Perform minor janitorial tasks as needed
Requirements:
• High school graduation or equivalent experience
• Intermediate First Aid Certificate (OFA 2)
• Ability to maintain alertness in confined areas
• Physical strength and agility to perform duties
• Computer skills are an asset
This role requires vigilance, quick decision-making, and the ability to maintain control in challenging situations.
