Position: Early Childcare Educator

Hinton Aboriginal Head Start is seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for an educator who is passionate about supporting young children, families, culture, and community.

The successful candidate will help create a safe, welcoming, inclusive, and culturally meaningful learning environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

- Participate in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities and programming.
- Support children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
- Build positive and respectful relationships with children and families.
- Incorporate Indigenous culture, traditions, language, and teachings into programming.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and engaging learning environment.
- Work collaboratively with staff, families, and community partners.
- Observe and document children's learning and development.
- Participate in staff meetings, training, career development, and program activities.
- Follow all program policies, procedures, and licensing requirements.

Qualifications:

- Early Childhood Educator certification- Level 2 minimum
- Experience working with preschool-aged children is an asset
- Available to take direction and adapt to a fast-paced environment




- Understanding and respect for Indigenous culture and the Aboriginal Head Start Program is an asset.
- Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
- Reliable, compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic.
- Current First Aid/CPR certification required
- Clear criminal Record check and Vulnerable Sector Check required
- Clean drivers abstract
- Reliable and flexible
- Warm and friendly attitude towards children and families
- Effective communication skills
- Aware of possible changes and understanding of health guidelines and safety protocols

Wage: $19.00-$21.00 per hour. Based on education and experience.
