Electrical Engineering Expert (AI Training)

About The Role

We're looking for experienced electrical engineers to help train and evaluate cutting-edge AI models. Your deep technical knowledge will directly shape how AI understands and reasons through complex engineering problems — from circuit analysis to embedded systems to power electronics.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role. You choose your hours and work at your own pace.

- Organization: Alignerr
- Type: Hourly Contract
- Location: Remote
- Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

- Design Challenging Problems —
- Create advanced electrical engineering problems across domains like circuit analysis, power systems, signal processing, and electromagnetics to stress-test AI performance
- Author Ground-Truth Solutions —
- Write rigorous, step-by-step technical solutions that serve as benchmarks for AI learning and evaluation
- Audit AI Outputs —
- Review AI-generated code, circuit diagrams, and mathematical proofs for technical accuracy, safety, and compliance with engineering standards (e.g., IEEE, NEC)
- Improve AI Reasoning —
- Identify logical errors and flawed assumptions in AI-generated responses, then provide structured feedback to help models reason more accurately
- Document Failure Modes —

- Record how and where AI breaks down on complex engineering tasks so those gaps can be systematically addressed

Who You Are

- Holds or is pursuing a Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a closely related discipline
- Strong foundational knowledge in one or more core areas: VLSI, control systems, telecommunications, power electronics, embedded systems, or signal processing
- Able to communicate highly technical concepts clearly and precisely in writing
- Detail-oriented — you catch errors in equations, circuit logic, and technical documentation that others miss
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently on an asynchronous schedule
- No prior AI experience required

Nice to Have

- Experience with data annotation, technical content creation, or evaluation workflows
- Familiarity with simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB, SPICE, LabVIEW)
- Background in academic research or technical writing

Why Join Us

- Work on some of the most advanced AI models being developed today
- Fully remote and adaptable — work when and how much you want
- Freelance autonomy with the backing of a structured, collaborative team
- Gain rare insight into how large language models are trained and evaluated
- Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
