Job Summary

Matalco Canada Inc. operates a manufacturing facility in Brampton, Ontario and is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Millwright. This role will primarily be responsible for ensuring the ongoing operation of production equipment and will replace, repair and perform preventative maintenance.

This is a full-time position that works a Continental 12-hour Shift with day (7 am to 7 pm) & night (7 pm to 7 am) rotation every two weeks.

Minimum Qualifications

- Must have a valid 309A Electrician – Construction and Maintenance certificate.
- Certified journeypersons only – registered apprentices will not be considered. Certification is subject to verification on the Skilled Trades Ontario Public Register and must be maintained for the duration of employment.
- Industrial Electrician (442A) certification and Red Seal certification are considered robust assets.
- Proficient in programming and troubleshooting using RSLogix 5000 (ControlLogix).
- Strong knowledge of AB controllers, I/O modules, VFDs, SCADA systems, HMIs, and network protocols such as Ethernet, ControlNet, and DeviceNet.
- Extensive experience in diagnosing and repairing issues related to industrial electrical wiring, motors, and equipment.
- Skilled in installing, inspecting, and testing electrical panels, wiring systems, thermocouples, load cells & other transducers, and components across various types of machinery and equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain and troubleshoot industrial equipment within a challenging, steady paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Respond quickly to breakdowns and safety concerns, in order to resolve issues and reduce any possible downtime to a minimum;
- Inspect, test,



and maintain electrical systems to ensure they operate safely and efficiently.
- Diagnose electrical faults and repair or replace defective wiring, fixtures, and components.
- Interpret electrical blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications to complete installations accurately.
- Follow electrical codes, regulations, and workplace safety standards to prevent hazards and accidents.
- Perform all electrical work in accordance with the Ontario Electrical Safety Code (OESC), the Canadian Electrical Code, and Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) requirements.
- Comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and O. Reg. 851 (Industrial Establishments), and apply lockout/tagout and safe electrical work practices (CSA Z462 / arc-flash precautions and PPE).
- Set up and service electrical control panels, motors, transformers, and automation systems.
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
