- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and triage according to established emergency care protocols.
- Provide direct nursing care to patients experiencing acute and critical health conditions.
- Administer medications, treatments, and intravenous therapies as prescribed.
- Monitor patient conditions and respond promptly to changes in health status.
- Collaborate with physicians, paramedics, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement care plans.
- Operate and monitor emergency medical equipment and support life-saving interventions.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records in compliance with healthcare standards and regulations.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and post-discharge care.
- Adhere to infection prevention, patient safety, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Participate in emergency response situations, including trauma, cardiac,
and pediatric emergencies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) or equivalent nursing degree.
- Current registration or eligibility for registration with the Nurses Association of New Brunswick (NANB).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Emergency Nursing certification are considered assets.
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure, fast-paced workplace.
- Commitment to providing patient-centered care.
