This is an exciting new role within our HR Services team, where you'll provide expert employment and labour law advice across Canada, with a specialist focus on Ontario.
You'll translate legislative, regulatory, and case law developments into transparent, practical guidance, helping Citation Canada deliver trusted compliance content, advisory services, and employer solutions that support employers with confidence. Serves as Citation Canada's employment and labour law subject matter expert across all Canadian jurisdictions. Monitors, researches, and interprets legislative, regulatory, and caselaw developments across Canadian jurisdictions, assesses impacts, and advises internal teams on legislative interpretation, compliance risks, and required changes.
Reviews and approves employment law content, templates, policies, and client resources, determining and implementing required updates arising from legislative and case law developments. Establishes legal interpretation standards and best practices to ensure consistent guidance across client-facing teams.
Identifies opportunities to enhance Citation Canada's compliance offerings through new legal resources, tools, calculators, assessments, and employer solutions.
Leverages AI and legal technology to enhance legislative monitoring, legal research, knowledge management, content development, and automation while maintaining appropriate legal governance. Development of compliance products, digital tools, and AI-enabled employer solutions. Cross-functional initiatives involving legislative change management, compliance innovation, and new service development.
Marketing initiatives through legal review of campaigns, publications, webinars, and educational materials. Development of new compliance assessments, gap analyses, benchmarking resources, and premium client offerings. Ability to interpret complex employment legislation and case law and translate it into practical, employer-focused guidance.
Strong analytical thinking and judgment, with the ability to assess legal and compliance risks and provide balanced, commercially practical recommendations. Excellent written communication skills with the ability to develop and review clear, accurate, and accessible compliance resources. Strong facilitation, presentation, and coaching skills, with the ability to build legislative knowledge and capability across diverse teams.
Ability to build trusted relationships and influence stakeholders across Content, HR Advisory, HR Consulting, Product, Marketing, and leadership teams. Continuous improvement mindset, identifying opportunities to enhance compliance offerings, processes, and employer resources. Curiosity and confidence leveraging AI and legal technology to improve legal research, knowledge management, content quality, and operational efficiency.
Collaborative approach with the ability to work across functions to deliver practical, consistent, and high-quality client outcomes. Law degree (LL.Licensed and in good standing with a Canadian law society. Demonstrated employment and labour law experience across Canadian jurisdictions.
Experience advising employers on employment law matters.
Experience developing or reviewing employment-related policies, compliance content, templates, or employer resources.
