Position Overview

Redwood Hotels Group is seeking an experienced and hands-on Area Engineering & Maintenance Manager to oversee engineering, maintenance, safety, and facility operations across three hotel properties located in London, Ontario.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all three hotels are safe, properly maintained, operationally efficient, and compliant with applicable Marriott, Hilton, and IHG brand standards, government regulations, and company requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee daily engineering and maintenance operations across the three London hotel properties.
- Develop and maintain preventive maintenance programs for guestrooms, public areas, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, laundry, kitchen, and other building systems.
- Conduct regular property inspections and identify maintenance deficiencies, safety concerns, and operational risks.
- Coordinate work orders, repairs, capital projects, and emergency maintenance requirements.
- Ensure guestrooms, public areas, equipment, and building systems meet company and applicable brand standards.
- Support Marriott, Hilton, and IHG quality assurance inspections and other regulatory inspections.




- Track identified deficiencies and ensure corrective actions are completed accurately and on time.
- Ensure compliance with applicable Ontario fire, health and safety, building, electrical, environmental, and other regulatory requirements.
- Manage engineering vendors, contractors, service agreements, and maintenance providers.
- Obtain and review quotations, negotiate service requirements, and monitor contractor performance.
- Assist with engineering budgets, maintenance expenses, cost controls, and capital improvement planning.
- Monitor equipment performance and recommend repairs or replacements when required.
- Lead, train, guide, and support the maintenance teams at each property.
- Establish consistent preventive maintenance procedures and engineering standards across all three hotels.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, service documentation, warranties, and compliance records.
- Work closely with the General Managers and Redwood Hotels Group’s Head Office to resolve engineering, safety, and operational concerns.
- Respond effectively to urgent maintenance requirements across the London properties.

Qualifications
- Three to five years of experience in hotel engineering, maintenance, facilities management, building operations, or a related field is required.
- Multi-property hotel engineering or maintenance experience is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, fire and life safety, and general building systems.




- Experience with Marriott, Hilton, IHG, or another major hotel brand is considered an asset.
- Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance programs and property inspection requirements.
- Experience managing contractors, vendors, quotations, and service agreements.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and support maintenance teams across multiple locations.
- Excellent organizational, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple properties and prioritize urgent operational requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation.
- Ability to travel regularly between the three properties in London, Ontario.

The successful candidate will be comfortable overseeing multiple properties, leading maintenance teams, coordinating vendors, controlling costs, managing urgent repairs, and ensuring that all three hotels consistently meet company and applicable brand standards. Pay: $80,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
