Join the MI’KMAQ Wellness Centre focusing on mental health and addictions care. This office-based position emphasizes compassionate support and community involvement.
As a Mental Wellness and Addictions Support Worker, you will deliver culturally-grounded support to clients facing mental health challenges. This involves facilitating skills development in both cooperative and individual settings, prioritizing client wellness and independent living skills. You will engage actively with the Mental Wellness Team to foster an inclusive and secure atmosphere for client growth.
Key Responsibilities:
• Directly support individuals accessing wellness services • Facilitate skills development in individual and group formats • Collaborate on land-based cultural sessions • Build trusting relationships while maintaining boundaries • Assist with crisis response and follow-up activities
Requirements: • Relevant post-secondary training in health or social fields • At least 3 years of experience with vulnerable populations • Familiarity with recovery-oriented practices • Excellent organizational and communication skills • Experience in First Nations communities is beneficial
