Purpose of the position The Successful Incumbent Is Responsible For The Following Tasks
- Operates medium sized equipment on several different levels of projects and roads during all seasons
- Conducts pre-operational checks and preventative maintenance on equipment.
- Ensures site is maintained to standard, completing daily clean up/maintenance, i.e. snow removal, pothole patching, road signs, facility upkeep
- Works with contractors on work sites, at times providing general project direction and support
- Safely loads and hauls equipment to various locations; backs up a trailer, etc.
- Performs manual labour.
- Participates in on call rotation.
- Performs Airport Maintenance Operations.
- Performs administrative, safety, and other duties as required.

Job Requirements
- Grade 12 Diploma
- Heavy Equipment Operator Certificate considered an asset
- 8 to 10 years related experience operating heavy equipment performing basic maintenance, and experience loading and hauling equipment
- Experience using Grader equipment is preferred.
- Class 3 Drivers License required. Class 1 Driver's License is a strong asset!
- Proficiency in computer applications (ie MS Word, Excel, Outlook, UKG)
- Training in project management is considered an asset
- Have or willing to obtain:
- Air Brake Endorsement
- Fire Extinguisher Training
- First Aid
- Operator Safety for Picker Truck
- Overhead Crane
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods
- WHIMIS
- Experience working in a safety sensitive setting is an asset.
- Strong communications ,conflict management, analytical and problem solving skills
- Self directed with ability to work cooperatively with others
- Must submit a Drivers Abstract, Criminal Record Check, and Medical Assessment all satisfactory to Lac La Biche County.

Position details
- Permanent full-time position
- Hours: 2080 hours annually, 40 hours per week (days, evenings and weekends); and shared call rotation. May be additional hours for emergencies or special projects.
- Salary range: $67,849.60 to $94,889.60 ($32.62 to $45.62) hourly) based on experience and level of certification
