We are not hiring apprentices at this time. Only experienced technicians who already hold the required certification and have hands-on HVAC service experience will be considered.

About the Position

BC Furnace & Air Conditioning Ltd. is looking for experienced and motivated Gas Appliance Repair Technicians to join our team.

We provide residential heating and cooling services throughout the Lower Mainland. Our work covers a wide range of HVAC and gas appliances, with a strong focus on furnaces, boilers, and hot water tanks, as well as air conditioning systems, heat pumps, fireplaces, and other HVAC applications.

We are looking for technicians who take pride in their workmanship, can confidently diagnose and repair equipment, and provide professional service to customers. The successful candidates will be comfortable working independently while also communicating effectively with our office and service team.

Key Responsibilities

- Diagnose, service, repair, and maintain a variety of HVAC and gas appliances.
- Service and troubleshoot furnaces, boilers, hot water tanks, air conditioning units, heat pumps, fireplaces, and other HVAC equipment.
- Accurately identify equipment problems and determine appropriate repair solutions.
- Perform mechanical and electrical troubleshooting as required.
- Use diagnostic equipment, including ohmmeters and other electrical testing tools.




- Perform component repairs using appropriate tools and welding equipment when required.
- Conduct safety inspections and ensure equipment is operating safely and in compliance with applicable regulations.
- Complete routine maintenance to improve equipment efficiency, reliability, and performance.
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation for completed work.
- Communicate professionally with customers regarding diagnoses, repairs, timelines, and safety considerations.
- Follow all applicable safety regulations, industry standards, and company procedures.
- Attend scheduled residential service calls and respond to field service requests throughout the Lower Mainland.
- Pick up and drop off equipment at the company facility as required.
- Communicate with the office and other technicians to coordinate jobs and ensure customers receive timely service.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment.

Qualifications & Experience

Required:

- Valid Gas B or C Certificate.
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on HVAC service technician experience.
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience diagnosing and repairing gas appliances and HVAC equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics.




- Experience using electrical diagnostic equipment such as ohmmeters.
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work independently and manage service calls efficiently.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Reliable, professional, and safety-conscious work habits.

Assets:

- Experience servicing air conditioning and heat pump systems.
- Additional HVAC/R certifications.
- Boiler-related experience or certification.
- Experience with welding or component repair.

A driver's abstract may be requested as part of the hiring process.
