The Facility Mechanic is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the operation of all plant systems and equipment. Including but not limited to balers, conveyor belts, gearboxes, electrical motors, pulleys, shafts bearings, forklifts, wheel loaders tractors and trailers. Performs preventive maintenance inspection (PM); diagnose, repair, and rebuild major equipment/components including but not limited to balers, conveyors, hydraulic power packs, eddy currents, electro-magnetic belts, optical sorters, diverters, compressors, trash compactors, motors, glass breakers, wire tie systems, fans, pumps, forklifts, and building equipment.

- Establishes and adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules and advises leadership if additional work is needed or cannot be completed within the Standard Repair Times.
- Inspects the quality of third-party repairs and or rebuilds.
- Recommends measures to improve production, equipment performance and product quality.
- Estimate time and materials required to perform major repairs.
- Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA Standards and performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
- High School diploma or GED.




- Three (3) or more years of mechanical experience.
- Ability to work a adaptable schedule which may include nights and weekends to support operations and the needs of the facility. Knowledge of all tools required to perform repairs and maintenance on equipment.
- Ability to follow schedules, instructions, technical manuals and maintenance guidelines, and other procedures associated with the maintenance of the company equipment.
- Knowledge of OSHA and other state and federal regulations.
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
- Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operation, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.
